A feed for people who build things. Most of these come down to remembering there is somebody on the other end of the post.
Argue with the work, never the person
Hard feedback is welcome and is most of the value here. Contempt is not: a product can be a bad idea without its maker being one.
Harassment and pile-ons end the same way, whoever started them.
Show your work, don’t broadcast it
Posting what you are building is the point of this feed. Posting the same link five times a week is advertising.
If your first ever post is a launch link, expect it to land flat. Reply to a few people first.
Numbers you quote should be real
Revenue, users, growth, what the product does today. Round them, keep them vague or decline to share them, but do not invent them.
A screenshot with the axis relabelled is the version of this that gets caught most often.
If a model wrote it, read it before we do
Most of us ship with AI and nobody minds. What does not belong here is output posted with nobody in the loop.
The test is whether you would stand behind every sentence if somebody asked you about it.
Mentions are for people who want to hear from you
Tagging someone puts a notification on their screen that they did not ask for. Spend it on answering them, crediting them, or something they would genuinely care about.
Eight makers attached to a launch post to buy reach is obvious from the outside.
Upvotes are earned, not arranged
No vote trading, no second accounts, no asking a group chat to go and click. The rankings are the product.
Telling people you launched today is fine. Organising the outcome is not.
Keep it safe for work
No sexual content, gore, or anything illegal. People open this on a work laptop.
Write in English
Not because it is anybody’s better language, but because a shared one lets a maker in Lisbon and a maker in Jakarta read the same thread.
Be useful to someone
The best thing you can do here is answer a question you happen to know the answer to.
