Keep export settings beside the output file
Keep the export settings beside the image they produced. Name both the source file and the saved output, especially when several attempts look alike.
Record the format and requested dimensions, followed by the settings applied in that attempt. Mark a default option as "default" if its actual value is unknown.
Open the saved output before sharing it. Put the dimensions and file size you observe in separate fields from the requested settings. If an export fails, keep its status and error text in the record, with private filenames removed from anything you share.
Give the next attempt a new output filename. A reviewer can then match each settings note to a file without relying on thumbnail order.
