Built a scroll story mapping every vine grower in France 🍇

I love wine, data and tech, so I set myself a challenge: what visual story can I tell using only open data from data.gouv.fr?

France publishes its full company register, so I pulled every business coded as grape growing (116,130 of them), plus the official borders of every wine appellation. Then I added critic scores from my wine discovery site, Femente, to see where the 95+ wines actually come from.

Favourite finding: in Burgundy's Côte-d'Or, 1 in 5 growers has made a 95-point wine. In the Languedoc's Hérault, it's 1 in 368.

Stack: Python to crunch the files, then one HTML canvas with no map library. The regions lift out of the map with CSS 3D transforms as you scroll.

Would love feedback, especially on how it feels on mobile.

Built a winery/restaurant discovery platform. Turns out "build it" was the free trial. Growth is the paid tier nobody warned me about.

Critic-led ratings, a graph of every winery/restaurant/region worth caring about, live on web and now iOS. The code shipped in a normal amount of time. Getting one (1) human to open it without me personally texting them has taken considerably longer.

If you've cracked distribution for a niche app, I have questions and possibly a bottle of something good
